On 27 August 2018, our sons, Toby and Theo, were born at just over 20 weeks gestation due to a condition called 'incompetent cervix'. They were born 12 minutes apart and lived together for 45 minutes before leaving this world within seconds of each other.

My wife, Sarah, and I have vowed to honour their memory in every way possible to make them proud, to raise awareness of baby loss and give hope to others who have lost a baby at any stage during a pregnancy.

Whilst trying to process my grief, I set myself the challenge of completing a 500km bike ride over 4 days from St Ives, Cornwall to Richmond Park, Surrey. In August 2019 I accomplished this challenge with a group of amazing human beings, finishing just before Toby & Theo’s 1st birthday and raising over £14,000 for Tommy’s!

Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents with the aim of giving parents the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies. We are delighted to continue supporting Tommy’s in Toby and Theo’s memory.

Fresh from this challenge I have, along with a group of friends, signed up for a Coast 2 Coast ride from Sharjah to Fujairah in the UAE. The one day, 200km challenge will be the furthest many of us have cycled and will test the same resolve of endurance and strength we have experienced in the years before conceiving Toby and Theo and the year since they have died - but with the aim of giving us and others hope for the future.

Any donations would mean so much to myself, Sarah and all the other families who have suffered the tragic loss of a baby. They will also help us as we put in the many miles needed to train for what will be a massive challenge for us all.
