Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

12 members of the Training Needs Analysis and Human Factors teams will be completing the Walking With The Wounded's flagship event 'The Cumbrian Challenge' 2018.

The Challenge - In spirit of not doing things by halves, the team are aiming to complete the 'Tougher' route. A 30km route taking in some of the highest mountains in England and a large portion of the surrounding countryside. This is going to be an arduous task for the team which will see them commit body and soul to the cause. We hope you can support us in raising money for this special charity which is close to all our hearts due to the teams strong military links.

Established in 2010, Walking With The Wounded supports a pathway for vulnerable veterans to re-integrate back into society and sustain their independence. At the heart of this journey is employment.

We recognise the inherent skills of our armed forces personnel and we want to complement these qualities, as well as provide support to transfer their skills into the civilian workplace. We offer assistance through our programmes to those vulnerable veterans who have been physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged by their service and assist them in sustaining their independence through new sustainable careers outside of the military. This includes providing support to homeless veterans and veterans in the Criminal Justice System, areas which are too often ignored....

The outcome? Sustainable employment and independence for them and their families.
