Story

Most of you that know me or have been following  me on social media would know that on 7th of April 2021  I have lost my beautiful best friend in a tragic accident involving a passing car…Not a day goes by that I don't think of Tash, especially when I go running. I told myself I am going to carry on running those miles that she no longer can and going to carry on doing it for both of us. I mostly run by myself these days and I really enjoy it even more now as this is, as I always call it, “me and Tash time”. Time to think and remember  the amazing fun times we had together. All I have left now is the beautiful memories that I will treasure forever…

I have decided to challenge myself a bit further after completing the marathon in April and have signed up to an ultra marathon….So many people called me crazy but this is me all over ha!. On the 15th of October I will be taking part in the Run to the Sea race. This race means a lot to me for a few reasons. This is the last race that Tash did and not only she smashed her PB she also was the 1st woman to complete it. She did it in 3.49!! This is almost 40 min faster than my marathon time!! Speaking to her parents about it they said she absolutely loved the race and really enjoyed it so I thought I would love to do it too. This also will be a huge challenge for me as I will be going from zero to 50km in a space of 6 weeks as unfortunately post marathon in April   I was forced to have time out from running due to injury. I knew October was not that far away and I didn't want to give up, cancel or postpone the race. As all my friends know how  stubborn I am and once I commit to something I commit 100%!

I will be honest this distance scares the life out of me, I just keep telling myself I can do it, I will be fine, stay strong and be positive! Running such a distance is mentally and physically exhausting and requires a lot of time, commitment and dedication. I am ready to take this challenge on and do my absolute best.

Tash has left such a huge legacy behind her and the Natasha Lewis Foundation that was set up in her name doing incredible work supporting young athletes to become the best they can be, to pursue their sporting dreams whilst empowering them with the means to achieve them. The Foundation has been live for just over a year now and already managed to achieve so much all thanks to your generous donations. This year foundation has taken the  big decision to help more athletes, it has upped the support from 5 to 12 athletes and still committed to supporting Team Bath Athletics Club. And this is why it’s so important to me and means so much. If you would like to know more information and updates on the athletes  please take a look or follow the Natasha Lewis Foundation Facebook or Instagram pages.

It would mean the world to me if you could sponsor me to help raise the money for this wonderful foundation to keep Tasha’s legacy going and support the amazing work that Foundation does. This is something Tash would have been so incredibly proud of. Any donation, no matter how small, will be put to incredibly good use creating a positive legacy beyond Tash's wildest dreams. It will also mean the world to me.
