Story

In memory of Janine, we are raising funds for Boot Out Breast Cancer & also the St. James's Place Foundation.  St. James's Place will match “£ for £” any funds we raise for Boot Out Breast Cancer, with the matched funds being used to benefit the causes supported by the Foundation.

As friends & family of Janine Thompson, who died from breast cancer in 2010, we are busy raising lots of money for charity in her memory. ‘The Janine Thompson Fund’ has raised over £27,000 for the ‘Boot Out Breast Cancer’ Charity over the last two years and in addition to this year’s annual Golf Day & Ball at Shaw Hill Golf & Country Club, we want to raise some extra funds and we need YOUR help!

So with this in mind we've set ourselves some challenges which gradually get tougher & tougher:-

Challenge No1 - 5th April 2014 - DONE!!!

Born Survivor is a 10km physical endurance challenge designed by Elite British Royal Marines Commandos and is designed to put you through your paces as you stampede over, under and through a series of military style obstacles set in 10k of brutal & unforgiving Lake District terrain.

Challenge No2 - 26th/27th April 2014 - DONE!!!

Coast to Coast Cycle ride - as its name suggests, is a cycle journey from Whitehaven to Sunderland taking in 3,000m of climb & 140 miles of cycling - all within 2 days.

 Challenge No3 - 14th June 2014 - DONE!!!

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland & Wales within 24 hours!  Walkers climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The three peaks are:

Ben Nevis (4,409 ft.), the highest mountain in Scotland

Scafell Pike (3,209 ft.), the highest mountain in England

Snowdon (3,560 ft.), the highest mountain in Wales

The total distance walked is estimated at 42 kilometers (26 miles) with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).

So how can you help us?  It’s easy – just donate through our Just Giving website and help us to hit our target of £5,000 in memory of Janine.
