St Gemma's Hospice is a local, independent charity providing the best possible care and support for people in Leeds with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. We support patients and their families, both in the Hospice and in the community, at any stage of their illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know we (well maybe just me and katie!) don’t run so 5k seemed like an appropriate challenge for charity! We are going to (attempt) to complete this at Disneyland in memory of our amazing grandparents and so we can tick it off our 2020 list.

Sadly our grandad passed away at the start of last year and St Gemma’s hospice in leeds took amazing care of him in the final few weeks of his life. He was all for living life to the fullest and it seems so fitting to be taking all the opportunities we can in his memory. Our Grammy also constantly fundraised for St Gemma’s and Wheatfields hospice for many years and we wanted say thank you and follow in her amazing footsteps. She is always our inspiration for things that seem hard. It also happens to be on our list of things to do in 2020 and so it means we can cross it off AND visit Disneyland.

And so here we are...Saul and Chris have also said that if we meet our target then they will also run the 8k on the Sunday morning dressed as princesses! All suggestions obviously greatfully received 😂
