We have applied through the ballot to run the marathon for over 15 years unsuccessfully but this year we have decided to run for the National Deaf Children’s Society.

My Dad (Paul),  step dad (Andy) and  sister-in-law (Lorraine), all have their lives affected by deafness, either using cochlear ear implants and/or hearing aids.  It is such an unseen disability with so many “knock on” affects that you don’t consider. 

With this in mind, we know the trials they have experienced and go through on a daily basis. So for children starting their lives with hearing or developing hearing issues we wanted to give something back to help them.
