Story
I am hoping to achieve a target of raising £400.00 for CLIC Sargent, after having grown my hair for one year, I will have it all shaved off on my birthday in June 2015!
“Today, 10 children and young people in the UK will hear the shocking news that they have cancer.
Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help patients cope with cancer and get the most out of life. CLIC Sargent are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
£5 a month could pay for a nurse for 2 hours.
£7 a month could pay for a stay in a Home from Home.
£10 a month could pay for a play specialist for 1 day.
£25 could pay for a social worker to support a family for 1 hour.
£50 could pay for a play specialist for a child for 3 hours.
£75 could pay for a nurse to care for a child for 2 hours.”
I came across CLIC Sargent after seeing lots of stories on social media supporting Wig Wednesday. This charity has touched my heart so much that this is my way of doing my bit to help support the services of this wonderful group of people that help and care for those who have to face such a difficult crisis and you can help too!
