Story

The Ager Girls are fundraising for St Elizabeth’s Hospice (Suffolk) by taking part in the Midnight Walk on Saturday 12th May 2018 in memory of Heather Anne Ager.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In February 2017, our dearly loved Mum and Grandma was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. She started having problems with weakness in her legs suffering with falls and then after some time problems with her speech began. After various tests and scans the diagnosis of MND was confirmed.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rapid progressing disease that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. Messages gradually stop reaching muscles leading to weakness, wasting and eventually causing them to stop working, in turn affecting how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. It is a life shortening disease with no cure.

Sadly, on 5th February 2018, less than a year after diagnosis we lost our
wonderful Mum and Grandma.

The staff at St Elizabeth’s Hospice were invaluable with the vital care and specialist support they provided to our Mum and Grandma along with supporting us as a family, especially our Dad and Grandad, which we will never forget. Whether it was during the day or night they were always available and helped us all. Their support was truly amazing right up to and including her final day when the NHS were not able too.

As a family we are truly thankful and will be completing the walk in the hope of raising as much money as possible to support them as they supported us.

Thank you for your donations.
