We Highland Cross raises money for causes to benefit the people of the Highlands

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit The Rockhoppers page. We're taking part in this year's Highland Cross which consists of a 20 mile run over stalkers paths starting on the West coast and finishing with a 30 mile cycle to the East coast: crossing Scotland at its narrowest point.

The team has had varying membership over the last 20 years with various fly by nights and lightweights making up the numbers, but one man has remained solid and true: Ian Thorburn, master of all he surveys, is lining up for a very special, 20th Highland Cross.

He'll be joined by his son Ben and longstanding friend of the family, Gavin who between them haven't even been able to muster 20 Highland Crosses (but there's time yet)!

Not to be outdone "The Thor-bird's," Ian's wife Janie, daughter Anna and the new Mrs Sarah Thorburn, Ben's wife are also gunning for gold in this special year.

If we hit our donations target we'll wear spandex for the entire event. If we miss our target we'll wear even tighter spandex. The choice is yours people!
