We raise awareness and help fund research to improve the lives of people with APS

Story

Thanks for taking the time to read my page.

I'm fundraising for HSF for two main reasons:

Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) is a disease which runs in my family and has very severe effects on it's victims. My Grandfather passed away from APS based complications after having a number of debilitating strokes, my mother also has the condition and as a result has had a heart attack and several ministrokes amongst other manifestations. Although treatments are available they are far from ideal and diagnosis is often a long, slow and emotionally draining process for sufferers. HSF raise awareness and offer support to APS patients and have annual patient days where research is discussed and questions asked of leading clinicians in the field. I believe that the support they offer can prove invaluable and thus I offer my support to them!

Secondly, I am currently undertaking a PhD in this field in an aim to understand APS more. I've enjoyed carrying out my research and I thought it was time to give a little back!

Please donate anything you can,

Thanks

Thomas.
