Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Mayflower 400 Breakwater Swim that will take place on Sunday 9th August & the Burgh Island Swim will on Sunday 20th September 2020.

The Breakwater Swim is a 4km Swim, starting from Plymouth Breakwater with the swim taking place across a busy stretch of water with swim start time of around 08.30am, finishing at Tinside Beach.

The Burgh Island Swim is a full lap around the island, & is one of the most spectacular Round Island swims in the UK.

I am raising money for the Chestnut Appeal. They were founded in 1999 at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and has since gone on to be at the forefront of prostate cancer care right across the area. They support the very latest in treatments and technology that wouldn’t be available without community fundraising and they rely on donations from people like you.

More than 47,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed in the UK every year, that’s 129 men a day yet less than 30% of people know where the prostate gland is, let alone what it does, so a lot of work is still needed.

The success of the Chestnut Appeal is a testament to what can be achieved if we work together as a community. Anything you can donate would be greatly recurved.
