I was lucky enough to gain a ballot place this year for the London Marathon but have decided to run for the Finish Line Funds. This charity was founded by Flyers Southend running club after one of our members, Nick Palmer, tragically lost his life after finishing the Southend Half in 2014. 

My family means everything to me and I know first hand that loosing someone who hasn’t lived a full life has devastating consequences on those left behind - I consider myself a lucky lady in so many ways and  I would love to help raise money for  Finish Line Funds 

FINISH LINE FUND CONSTITUTION

The preservation and protection of good health for the public benefit in East Essex in particular but not exclusively by:

The provision of grants to runners and/or their families who have been affected by serious injury, disability or death whilst participating in the sport of running.

Promoting running and other sports at an amateur level in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas by organising running events and providing equipment and sponsorship to clubs in Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding areas to promote health and wellbeing.

THE CHARITY HAVE RECENTLY HELPED WITH SUPPLYING DEFIBRILLATORS LOCALLY AND  HAVE FUNDED ANOTHER LOCAL PARKRUN FOR THE BENEFIT OF SOUTHEND COMMUNITY. 

I have been fortunate to have taken part in many races with my Flyer family and have made so many friends along the way who have always been supportive as have my family and forever supporter JCB. 

I am a social runner with no great ambitions for personal bests, I run for fun, to keep fit and improve and help my mental well being.

Please help me to make a difference by donating whatever you can spare to this worthwhile cause.
