Story
Thank you for visiting my page!
I am running my first marathon, and raising money for a very special cause.
As many of you know, my son Albie had a rough first year, suffering with eczema, allergic reactions and skin infections. He is doing great now, and we have treatments and experience that ensure he is getting the most out of being a young toddler!
Since December I have learnt that eczema is a very misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition, despite the fact one in five children develop eczema at some point.
In our experience the NHS sadly did not know how to treat Albie. Some of the best support we had, as anxious but determined parents came from the National Eczema Society - they listen, understand the different challenges of each case, and don't dismiss anything as 'just eczema'.
The Society does incredible work for people living with this challenging condition and help anyone, friends and family, who might be impacted. Their Helpline was a lifesaver, their webinars extremely informative and the toys they sent for Albie made sure we knew we weren't alone.
The Society is a very small charity, with income of just over £500k a year - I hope by raising a bit more we can help more families and individuals access its vital advice and support.
