Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Back in 2007, as I was packing my bags for university, my Mum gave me a set of my favourite recipes that she’d taken the time to type up. They were dishes that the whole family loved and were staples of my childhood.
I’d wanted to create a set of recipe postcards for a while, the idea being to sell them and make money for charity. When I rediscovered Mum’s special recipes earlier this year on the family computer ( my paper versions have long been lost ) it seemed obvious that I should make use of them to honour her,
The recipes themselves are written in a very relaxed conversational tone, a world away from the straight forward step by step recipes that now litter the internet. Each card has a visual representation of the dish; photography, collage as well as drawing and lino print.
The idea behind the postcards is that they find more than just a single use; put them on the fridge, use them as a bookmark for a cookery book, or maybe give to a friend after you’ve cooked the dish yourself.
These postcards would make a wonderful gift for any cook or food lover. If you would like a set you can donate here and 100% of the money (the printing and delivery is already taken care of) will go to Cancer Research. Donate whatever amount you can afford (suggested £10+) and then leave your address with your donation or on the contact page of my website or email it to hello@tomgirling.com. If you would like more that one copy then maybe consider donating more, and indicate this along with your address.

Printing Specs and Delivery.
The set is comprised of seven cards:
- Chicken Risotto
- Kedgeree
- Yogurtlu Kebab
- Macaroni Cheese
- Pavlova
- Chocolate Mousse
- An Introduction & Conversion Chart
They're printed on 350gsm recycled card and come in a presentation envelope so they can be given as a gift.
As a Christmas present for 2019 this will only really be available to the UK, though copies can be distributed to the R.O.W at a later date. If you’d like to donate but aren’t bothered about a printed version I can always send a PDF. Orders will hopefully be sent out mid December and there may only be one print run, so it could be a case of when they're gone, they're gone!
Thanks. Tom x
