I'm turning 40 this year and haven't done anything like this before, but I have decided that this year will be different. On the 20th November, I'm going to walk a route which I have driven hundreds of times before. The road is very close to my heart - from my very first trip by bus from Edinburgh bus station, to Galashiels. The distance on the A7, between my current house and my first flat in Galashiels, is 29.2 miles (47km) and the plan is to walk this distance in one day.
I have chosen to support a Dogs for Autism Charity, as I think this can make a big change in people's lives (not just kids).
It costs in excess of £20,000 to train and support each dog, and the charity relies entirely on donations. My aim is to raise 10% of that sum. Each dog can change the life of not only the owner, but the life of the whole family unit. I am extremely grateful for any support you may feel able to provide.
Thank you.
