Story
It started with a glitzy ball at The Tigers stadium and yes, most sensible people bid on spa days and holidays in a silent auction, but we (a group of 5 mums) for some bizarre reason bid on entry into a Half Marathon!! Of course, we won...and then the panic set in! Some of us are runners but most of us aren't however we decided if young people recovering from cancer can do it, then we have NO EXCUSE!
We WILL do it (not sure whether crawling across the finish line counts??) but we will be there running in the cold/wet February weather in support of this wonderful charity.
So THANK YOU for supporting us and Move Against Cancer. A fantastic charity created by a young lady called Gemma who is herself in recovery. She realised that there wasn't a charity like this with a focus purely on young people and children with cancer to get moving against cancer; everyone needs a goal in life and those living with and in recovery from cancer are no different - in fact, they probably need one more that all of us and Move Against Cancer helps them with their goals outside of treatment and hospitals.
