Story
For the 19th time, I have volunteered to take part in a fundraising Challenge for the Nazareth Hospital to help support patients and staff at the Hospital.Monies raised will go towards the creation of a much needed Chaplaincy Service.
On the previous 18 Challenge I have cycled, however, for Personal reasons, this challenge will see me “ walking in footsteps of Jesus”. Starting in Nazareth and ending at Capernaum, with stops at Zippori, Horns of Hatton, Magdala, Sea of Galilee etc.
As a result of Covid, this is a rescheduled Challenge. I had already secured sponsorship of £2535. I hope to add another £1000 to this total. If you have already sponsored me, Many Thanks!!
Since my first Nazareth Challenge in 1997, I have, with your generous support raised £67777, for the Nazareth Hospital. Achieving this target would let me break through the £70000 figure.
Friends, family and colleagues have been remarkably generous in their encouragement and support over 25 years of fundraising, for which I am very grateful and thankful. I hope you will find it in your hearts to continue to support the great worth of the Nazareth Hospital.
When was the last time you hugged someone? With social distancing measures ruling the world, it's easy to feel disconnected from others. At the Nazareth Hospital, our Pastoral Care Team helps mitigate the effects of isolation and anxiety. Since we have over 700 staff and more than 100,000 patients every year, we need to expand our Pastoral Care Team to keep providing emotional and spiritual support to our staff, patients and their families. How can you get involved?By donating towards the Nazareth Challenge 2022, our sponsored hiking and cycling route through the Holy Land, you can help us recruit staff and train local volunteers for the Pastoral Care Team so that no ones left behind. Hani Batheesh was one of our Coronavirus patients who benefited from the Pastoral Care Programme: If I say thank you, that wont be enough. All I received was kindness, good care and full attention. Thanks for giving me hope and providing excellent treatment in this unique hospital.
