Story
As some of you may know my Nan has suffered with Alzheimer's for many years now and if you have ever known anyone who has suffered with this horrible illness you will know how nasty it really is and how hard it can be for those people close to them.
Over the last few years myself and my family have done several different events to try and raise some money for The Alzheimer's Society to help them try and find a cure for this disease however this time around i took a step back and instead of looking to the future for a cure i have looked at the present and at those people who are struggling to cope with looking after themselves and their loved ones who are suffering with Dementia. After speaking with my Granddad about this and hearing all the wonderful things he has to say about Carers in Bedfordshire i have chosen to use my next challenge to fund raise for this fantastic charity.
Carers in Bedfordshire is a local charity. They help carers and former carers of all ages cope with the emotional and physical stresses arising from their caring responsibilities. They offer expert support, opportunities to meet other carers, information, training and grants, alongside specialist support for people living with dementia.
On 30th April i will be running a 5K in Milton Keynes and the very next day i will be running my first ever half marathon in Milton Keynes finishing at the Stadium MK - this currently seems like an impossible challenge however i know that with a lot of training i should be able to drag myself round 13.1 miles!!
Thank you so much for reading my page and thank you some more if you have been kind enough to donate.
