Dan and Mark from the UCL Division of Surgery are taking part in the Scotland leg of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain: 440 miles of cycling over four days, with a total of 17,800ft of hill climbs...!

With just a few weeks left to train, we'll keep you posted with our progress along the way. You'll also be able to track us on the ride itself (links to follow), if you want to see just how much we're struggling on those climbs!

We're fundraising for our partners Prostate Cancer UK, who's work is vital in treating and eradicating prostate caner. The organisation, are close partners of ours and our achievements together are plentiful, culminating in our winning of the BMJ Innovation Team of the Year award for our 'Innovations in Prostate Cancer Care' submission. 

The outcome of the research means that we are now better able to detect and treat prostate cancer, with dramatically reduced negative effects of treatment for patients. You can read more here, if you're interested: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/surgery/news-pub/bmjawardwinner

We'll be preparing for the huge challenge with the help of o the Institute of Sport, Exercise & Health (ISEH) who will be helping us prepare physically for the endurance of the ride, assisting with effective training methods and injury prevention during and after the event.
