We fund life-changing and life-saving work to support cancer patients at The Christie

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Wendy was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2011 and has since been receiving treatment at The Christie. After a bowel op and chemo, we were hopeful. Unfortunately the cancer spread and a major liver op and further chemo was necessary but yet again the cancer returned. Wendy is now on another course of chemo. Despite this she wants to take part in the Santa Run on 13th December to show her appreciation for the excellent treatment she's received and to raise money so that other people can benefit from the level of care and support that The Christie provides.

Wendy is going to be joined on the run by her grandchildren - Dylan aged 7, Eliot aged 5 and Libby aged 3, along with husband John, daughters Helen and Laura and their husbands Alex and John.

On the Friday before the run, Wendy will have had one of her chemo treatments and will still be hooked up to the pump that feeds the drug into her body so it will be a bit more challenging for her!

Any donations, no matter the amount, will be much appreciated - we'd love to reach the £500 target but if we can get more that would be amazing!
