Due to circumstances beyond our control it has come to our attention that we will unfortunately no longer be able to  purchase a batch of Elli toys. However, we know there is still a strong demand for toys like this for children in the UK and we will continue to fundraise for this vital cause.

The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust is now investigating whether there is a possibility of bringing back a much-loved toy called Dino. Dino was distributed by CHECT and the National Artificial Eye Service a few years ago and helped children to adapt to having an artificial eye. Dino has a glass eye which can be removed using one of the tools given to children at the time of surgery, so in the past acted as a learning tool as well as a comforter.

He is fondly remembered by many older children and teenagers affected by Rb. Some of the National Artificial Eye Service clinics still have a Dino there for their younger visitors to play with at appointments and we hope to bring him back for children to have their own one at home.

So to support this, we will cycle from Vision Express Nottingham to Billings Aquadrome Northamptonshire (75 miles) to meet these special children at their annual family event. We have so far 10 of us in the team and the family event is between 3rd & 5th October 2014. Please help in any way you can.

On top of this, I am personally riding 1 mile for each £1 we need to raise on a turbo trainer. So far since Xmas have cycled 2200 miles equivalent to around 125 miles per week in my spare time. If you think this is worth a donation, then thank you.
