Story

I'm on the crazy running trail again in memory of Joe.  Quite a few of you will know that I did the London Marathon in his memory in April 2011, however due to an injury I picked up a couple of weeks beforehand I had to walk most of the last 13 miles and I took a lot longer than I wanted to.  Being one to accept a challenge, BRACE have given me the opportunity to do it all again, and this time I am setting myself the ambitious target of finishing in 5 hours 30 or less, with a LOT less walking along the way!  So I’m running the London Marathon on Sunday 13 April 2013 to raise money for again for BRACE, who are a Bristol based charity who undertake research into conditions of the elderly, particularly Alzheimer's disease.

Chris' dad Joe passed away on 3rd March 2010, and was badly affected by Alzheimer's disease in the last months of his life.  This really had a profound impact on all of us so I'd really appreciate your support to help raise money which will be used locally and across the South West to support research into all aspects of dementia.  BRACE is one of only a few charities that exists specifically to finance dementia research - this work is vital if future generations are to be free from the fear of this devastating illness.
