We raise money to help our babies and their families

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 20 March 2017 we attended Princess Royal Maternity for what we thought was a routine appointment. Less than 24 hours later we were the proud parents to 2 beautiful but very poorly babies, Emelia & Elliot.

Our twins were born on 21 March 2017, 13 weeks early and immediately faced an uphill struggle to survive. The reason for their early arrival is still unknown and it is likely we will never find out. From day one they were both beset with various complications and illnesses, some of which we are still battling against some 5 months down the line and likely to do so for years to come. We have experienced sights no parent should ever have to endure like seeing your baby being resuscitated, we were however the lucky ones, in our time there we witnessed three babies lose their fight to survive and each time one passes away it has a huge impact on the entire unit.

We stayed in Princess Royal Maternity NICU for a total of 107 days receiving the most professional care we could have ever asked for. This level of care however does come at a price and as a consequence some of the niceties that make both the babies and parents feel comfortable such as blankets, incubator covers, blinds, chairs and general decor can only be made possible through donation to the Baby Fund.

Can I ask you to kindly donate as little or as much as you can to this very worthy cause so that other babies can receive the treatment and care they deserve to ensure the best possible start in life.

The PRM baby fund is wholly dedicated to the PRM neonatal unit, in Glasgow. We buy equipment, and support projects, that directly help the babies looked after on our unit. Charitable donations form a large part of this extra care.
