Eight weeks ago on the 14th February 2014 valentines day our beautiful baby boy Lucian Alfred Earle was born stillborn weighing 5lbs 80zs.  I was 38 weeks pregnant and had already left work to start my maternity leave, both myself and my husband Shane were full of excitement and fully prepared for the arrival of our beautiful baby boy, what we didn't expect was for our world to come crashing down after a visit to the hospital, to be told our baby had died.

We had a two day wait before Lucian was delivered.  He was so small with lots of very dark hair like his mum but had his dads very long legs.  We spent time with Lucian for the next two days holding him, talking to him and felt so proud to be holding our perfect little boy that we had waited so long for however we couldn't help feeling that a day that we should have been celebrating welcoming our baby into the world became a day we were having to say goodbye. Both myself and Shane will cherish the moments we got to spend with Lucian holding him and all the keepsakes we have for him.

Family and friends have also suffered greatly with the loss of Lucian and it has had a devastating effect on all our lives.  This should never have to happen to anyone but unfortunately it does.  The charity SANDS provides hospitals with training on ways to reduce infant death.  They also provide support to bereaved parents.  Please help to donate to stop other parents having to go through what we have.

A Special Angel Lucian Alfred Earle

There's a special Angel in Heaven
that is a part of me
It is not where I wanted him
but where God wanted him to be.
He was here but just a moment
like a nighttime shooting star.
And though he is in Heaven
he isn't very far.
He touched the heart of many
like only an Angel can do.
We held him every minute
for the end we all knew.
So I send this special message
to the Heaven up above.

and send him all my love.
