Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since I ran the last Cardiff Half Marathon last year, I have supported 45 further victims of Modern Day Slavery.

After the initial period of 45 days, even if they received a decision identifying them as a slavery victim, the specialised support ends, and the extra struggle for the victims begins. They have to find other accommodation and means to survive. Being homeless makes them vulnerable to traffickers again.

I am running the half marathon this year to raise funds to support victims whose support with us has come to an end.

About the charity

Bawso provides practical and emotional prevention, protection and support services to Black Minority Ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Female Genital Mutilation, Forced Marriage, Honour Based Violence, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
