My Story

I am travelling to Malawi, Africa in September with WeSeeHope as part of the Qlik CSR Supporter Trip.  Qlik is generously funding my trip.  I am raising funds that will go directly to WeSeeHope.  No amount is too small or too large :).  And, Qlik will match your donation!

My desire to participate in this trip began when I started at Qlik over 2 years ago after learning about the outstanding work we (Qlik) do to support CSR.  Listening to the stories, impact and the life changing experience these trips have had on others at Qlik opened my mind and heart to take the next step and apply.  I am anxious to experience and ultimately share and educate others on this part of the world and the phenomenal work of WeSeeHope through a different lens. 

Malawi Fast Facts

• Number living with HIV/AIDS: 1.1 million
• Number of orphans: 1 million orphans
• 26% of children aged 5-14 are involved in child labour
• 90% of population live in rural areas
• Ranked the poorest country in the world – Over 70% of population live on less than $1.25 a day.

WeSeeHope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization set up in the United States to enable children isolated by poverty in Southern and Eastern Africa to create a better future.  WeSeeHope works to support and sustain young people in Southern and Eastern Africa in the following key ways:

• Restore.  We reintegrate isolated children back into their communities.
• Protect.  We work with communities to protect their children and keep them safe.
• Educate.  We give children and young people access to an education and a chance to learn.
• Equip.  We equip teenagers with practical vocational training and business skills.
• Sustain.  We economically empower communities to support vulnerable children for the long term.
