Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Page.

UPDATE: Since badly spraining my ankle, the great Aberdeen Run are allowing me to run the course in my own time and still allowing me to pick up my medal at a later date as a goodwill gesture, which I'm greatful for so although I won't be running it on the day I will be running it once I've recovered from injury.

I am running the Arbroath Smokies 10  mile, Garioch 10k, Baker Hughes 10k, Westhill 10k, Aberdeen Great Run 10k, Dunecht 5k .... I ran 17 races last year so I'm likely to add to this growing list.  My son Wayne is also joining me in some races too as I add so many during the race year not all are listed here.

My journey with AFCCT started back in 2014 with football fans in training, I was part of a lovely bunch of ladies who all took part in the very first female group, we all still remain good friends and all benefited greatly from the course we took part in at AFCCT, it's transformed many people's lives and for want of a better word, gave them a reason to live and get up in the morning - myself being one of them.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in 2002/03 and since then life was a struggle, doctors or the medical profession was not any help and it wasnt until the coaches at AFCCT came along and encouraged our weight loss and fitness that I began to realise I could still take my life back, although there is no cure and I do still suffer from it, I've learned to deal with it so much better.  You just need the right encouragement from the right sources to set you on your way, and for me AFCCT was one of them.

AFCCT help many people ranging from just a few years old to over 100, the activities vary and range to cover so many abilities, it's not only physically encouraging it is good for your mental health and wellbeing too, so many people are still unaware of the good work that they do and they work tirelessly to try to reach out to more people in the local communities, and to do so requires vasts amount of donations, every year I try to do something to help, as I appreciated what they did for me, so please help me to help me to help them.
