Story
In 2013 Alun Williams from Wesleyan gave up his Christmas Day to spend it handing out presents to those children at the Children's Hospital who were too poorly to celebrate at home.
Alun raised £10,000, which including a sizeable contribution from Wesleyan, making a huge contribution to the hospitals fundraising for the new Children's Cancer Unit which is due to open in 2016.
This year Alun has graciously again decided to give up his Christmas Day, but this year he is going to be joined by his wife Maria and Wesleyan Charity Fundraiser Jessica Wilkes-Reading.
So this year we are trying to raise even more money and asking you to donate what you can to this amazing cause and help to support those who are less fortunate this Christmas.
How you can help:
- Ask your colleagues, family and friends to make a small sacrifice and instead of purchasing that extra small gift, donate that money to this appeal instead
- Instead of sending Christmas Cards to colleagues, make a small donation here
- Make a charitable donation to this wonderful cause instead of having a Secret Santa at work
The great news is that Wesleyan will be making a sizeable contribution to whatever is raised.
Alun, Maria and Jessica are really looking forward to Christmas Day, and hope to help put a smile on the brave children's faces and help give their families some support.
It's going to be a memorable experience for everyone involved and we know that they will enjoy every minute of it, and will help to raise much needed funds to help the hospital reach the £4million needed for the Children's Cancer Centre Appeal
