We are Weston Williamson + Partners, architects and urban designers based in London. 

We are taking part in the London to Brighton charity ride, riding 54 miles from Clapham Common in London to Madeira Drive on Brighton sea front. This year we have decided to dedicate our cycle to The Stephen Lawrence Trust because not only is it a local London based charity, it is key to our practice that we support and encourage people from all backgrounds into architecture. Each year we engage with the community, inspiring them to dream for and realise great careers.

Stephen Lawrence, a young aspiring architect from South London was murdered while waiting at a bus stop in a racially motivated attack in 1993. Although many things have changed since then, discrimination based on race, gender and background is still prevalent. The Stephen Lawrence Trust believe every young person, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity and support to flourish in a society that treats them with fairness and respect. The trust works with young people ages 13-30 to help them gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications they need to pursue the career of their choice. They support them to progress through the early stages of their career. They also work with community groups, companies and others to create a fairer society in which everyone can thrive.

The Trust has a purpose built Centre in South London and delivers innovative and impactful programmes that transform the lives of Young People and achieve real social change. SLCT achieves this vision by working to deliver the Stephen Lawrence Building Futures programme supporting aspiring architects and young people wishing to pursue careers in the built environment.

The trust does not receive government funding, currently relying on a very small income from endowments and donations. Please help us support the amazing work this charity does by sponsoring our cyclists.
