TW: self harm, suicide
In October 2020, I had a very bad spell with my mental health. Like many people, the COVID pandemic took its toll in unexpected ways. One day, I started self-harming and having suicidal thoughts. I was at the lowest point in my life.
My mum and fiancée came to the rescue and cared for me as much as they could. I'll be forever grateful for their undying love and support. But even this was too much for them alone to fix. They took me to the Elgar Unit at Newtown Hospital in Worcester. Two very kind gentlemen heard my story and helped de-escalate me and figure out the next steps on a road to recovery.
I'm elated to say that I've been in a very bright place for a few months now and I wanted to not let that go to waste. I'm raising money to allow the Elgar Unit to help more people like me when they need it most.
As some of you will know, I've always been one for taking on crazy ideas out of nowhere, and this is no exception! 30 straight days of 5km runs sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I know I can do it! (It'll also help me shift a bit of pandemic weight!)
If you can, please donate some money, it'll be hugely appreciated. If you can't, I completely understand, but please share the page if you have a moment!
