I have never run a half marathon before, and to be honest I haven't run for 30 years... In fact I wasn't very good at running then either! You will probably think I am mad then to do this, but I have been training since "The Beast from the East" hit us earlier this year.  

Now that you have stopped laughing, the reason for doing this is to raise funds for a really worthwhile cause - Fighting All Cancers Together. They are a very local charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne, who are going to build the first ever Centre to support those who are diagnosed with cancer. But its a lot more than that, it will also support those families, carers and friends, in a purpose built community building on the site of a former school at Dunston. Every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer, and this is worse in the North East.
