Story
One of the most gratifying things I have done in the past few years has been helping the needs of animals in Tangier.
A couple of years ago we acquired a beautiful piece of land outside of town that we created into a sanctuary for animals needing a forever home.
Jean-Louis came up with some great designs that allowed us to start constructing a facility that includes safe housing for all the animals, as well as a clinic, housing for staff and volunteers, and a kitchen to prepare all the food for the animals.
Currently we have over 150 dogs, over 100 cats, 2 macaques apes, 3 owls, plenty of donkeys, and a mule. We even have a couple of friendly wild boar and several goats roaming throughout the enclosures.
All the animals that come to the sanctuary have been either tortured, injured or abandoned. Many of the working animals have been over worked. All of them were left with no other opportunity of survival.
In 2017 I plan to direct the resources of the sanctuary to working with SPANA, an organization that has been helping animals in Tangier since 1926.
It is always such an uplifting treat to come and visit them as these animals express so much gratitude. This project has become a passion for me and we truly appreciate any support you deem worthy.
