Story
What started out as a few of us from work fancying a day out in the Dales has turned into a whole group of us tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks! And we thought as we are going to attempt such a huge challenge we may as well try to raise some money for a good cause while we are at it.
When thinking of a charity we all immediately thought of our collegue and good friend Jayne Jackson who has just started on dialysis whilst waiting for a kidney transplant. Jayne has worked for the Ambulance Service for 16 years and will be missed by all of us as she undergoes this important treatment.
The NKF aims to provide help and information to both renal patients and their carers . It does this via its website, telephone helpline, advocacy officers, quarterly magazine Kidney Life, medical information leaflets and its annual conference. If the provision of renal services is thought to be lacking, then the NKF campaigns to get things changed. The NKF is run by kidney patients for kidney patients and is the largest renal patient charity in the UK.
