Story

Back in 2008 I had severe pain in my hip. It took a long time to diagnose,  I was in severe pain for a prolonged period  with the fear that it was something serious.

I was in my final year of university and it was touch and go whether i would have to pull out and resit the following year.

A tumour was identified and i was told removal would require a major operation, with me being in a wheelchair for up to 3 months, followed by 3 months on crutches.

Luckily the RNOH were trialling cutting edge surgery where they converted a CT scanning room to an operating theatre once a month to undertake the surgery.

They fixed me in a single day using keyhole surgery and i walked out pain free and able to finish my degree.

I am so grateful for what they did for me that day and often reflect on how lucky i was.
