We provide vital treatment, care & support to cancer patients and families in Wales

Story

We call know cancer sucks. Most families will have some experience of it. But when it is your own and that diagnosis comes out of the blue it can be devastating. Last year just before Christmas my wife, Jen, got the bombshell. Her breast cancer from 3 years ago was back.

Thanks to the great work of Velindre Cancer Centre Jen has finished her chemo but treatment continues every 3 weeks.

This is to help raise some much needed money for the research and support programmes that Velindre run - the stuff that does not get funded directly by the NHS but is vital to help families who have to hear that word - cancer - and endure its consequences.

This - is my Year of Endurance.

I have already done 912km including the Vale of Glamorgan Coastal Ultra (50km) and Preseli Beast (40km). Also the monster West Highland Way (157km) with wingmen Scotty 'King of Scotland' Murray and Kev 'Mont Blanc' Monson - completed in 42 hours.

My target is a total of 1000km by the end of 2019. So that leaves me with 2 marathons in 2 weeks.

On Sunday 22nd December it is me versus Pen y Fan. I will be up and down the 6.5km route (450m ascent) as many times as I can in 12 hours (Mastermind rules apply).

On New Years Eve I will run whatever is left to make it to 1000km.

Wish me luck, share with anyone you wish, and thank you for your kind donations which will go to Velindre immediately.
