Mackenzie's story...........

My mum was diagnosed with cancer in February this year 7 months after experiencing symptoms. Although she went to the doctor in October it took until January before they sent her for tests. Mum believes if she had gone to the doctor earlier and been a bit pushier the cancer wouldn't have spread as far as it did. She has had three operations since April and is now having 12 courses of gruelling chemotherapy.

Mum wants to raise money for cancer research but wants people to take more notice if they think their body is trying to tell them something or if they feel there may be something wrong. Don't put it off like she did. Go to the doctor and be a nuisance. You know your body better than anyone else.

I am going on a conservation trip next year and mum said any money raised for this charity she will match for my trip.
