I am returning in June with a fresh team  to the Lewa Conservancy in Kenya: scene of last year's BlackRock triumph witha new and more diverse group of intrepid runners,aiming to raise at least £50k for a most worthwhile cause. Lewa's efforts in conservation,education and sustainable development are exemplary,and a small amount of money goes a long way to providing transformational change in this remote and poverty stricken part of northern Kenya.In these recessionary times,please remember the real needs of the next generation-education,clean water,and sustainable development provided by eco-tourism.Charismatic Megafauna are a key to economic development here.

Remember that this has been voted one of the toughest marathons on the planet-it's uphill most of the way,hot,dusty and at high (5500 feet) altitude,as much a test of mental as physical stamina. The Kenyans still lap most of the field.

and there will be (top claret again) prizes donated by me for the closest sponsor (on this site) to guess the time between fastest and slowest team member.Last year this was between 1:45 and 2.53 or so....the prize is two bottles of Cos D'Estournel 1990 ,runner up gets one.So please post your entry on this page along with a donation.any donation gratefully received,but I'm going to set  £50 for a sweep entry...I'll accept entries if you've already posted as at 22nd May
