Alfie Jorge suffered renal failure before he was one week old and was immediately put on dialysis. At four months old his family learnt that he had had a thrombosis in the channels to his eyes, causing complete blindness. At nine months old Doctors discovered that Alfie had a rare genetic condition called protein C deficiency, which causes clotting, sadly nothing could reverse the damage already done.
At only three years old, this brave little boy received a life changing liver and kidney transplant. He also suffers seizures, has learning delays and autism.
Alfie is now really enjoying sitting in the garden and loves all weathers. The feeling of warm sun on his skin or giggling in wind and rain waving his arms all around.
Alfie is getting older and is transitioning between play and sensory stimulation in his environment and development.
Alfie would hugely benefit from a sensory garden. Where he could enjoy different smells of herbs and flowers. Including different textures and sounds . A water feature would be lovely for him to listen to.
Also a globe sensory chair that Alfie could sit and swing and enjoy motion whilst enjoying being outdoors.
This would be amazing for Alfie as he out growing children's equipment or limited in use from mobility or sight impairment.
Despite all this Alfie is a wonderful, brave and cheeky eight year old, who loves music, water, school and lots of attention. We have previously raised money for other items on this page, please see the update.
Thank you all.
