In memory of Dean Barry

Our mission is to stop men dying by suicide and we believe death by suicide is preventable. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 50. At James’ Place, we provide proven, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 24th June myself and friends will be completing the 15 mile Wirral Coastal walk in memory of our dear friend Dean who we sadly lost in September 2017 through suicide.

As part of the charity walk we hope to raise awareness as well as vital funds for services that are dedicated to supporting those affected by or risk of suicide. We would really like to raise funds for James place in Liverpool as we know that such a service is crucial and vital for those suffering from anxiety, depression and suicide.

James Place is a Liverpool based (Georgian Quarter) non-clinical centre for men experiencing suicidal crisis, the first service of its kind in the UK. Taking referrals from local hospitals, student counselling services, police and street triage services, visitors will be offered a service of one-to-one free therapeutic support during their time of need.

I'd like to offer support and kindly ask others to stand with me to help raise awareness and offer support to those in need.

If you would like to find out more about the service and the work they do please follow the link below.
