Story

Reggie was born in the 1st September with half a heart (hlhs) and 3 other CHDs if he was to survive pregnancy and birth he would need a series of 3 operations in order for him to survive his first was at 4 days old. He had open heart surgery for 9hours the Norwood procedure, his next surgery, the glenn procedure is the end of January and then one again when he is 3/4 years old. That will be the final thing he will have and then his only other option is a heart transplant if he is put forward for one as he could be to damaged to even accept a heart. His life span is only late teens.
On the 19/12 his cousin Honey-Rose was born with right arterial isomerism and 3 other CHDs she was sent to an hospice as they said there is nothing that can be done for her and she would pass away after a few hours/days. 5 days later she is still going strong so her mum and dad asked for a second opinion and 3 weeks later she's had her first open heart and is doing brilliantly. Like Reggie she will also need the glenn and Fontan procedures and her life span is unknown at the minute. These babies have had a tough start in life but they have proved how strong they are. Half a heart twice the fight! 💙💗
