UgandAid is a close-knit organisation that has a DIRECT IMPACT on the lives of those less fortunate than us. EVERY POUND given goes directly to this cause. The UgandAid team have shared stories about how the people they meet in Uganda have very little, but are always willing to share a lot. Yet there are so many people who have a lot, and are not even willing to share a little. Don't be one of those people.

I was given this opportunity to visit Uganda in February 2019 as part of the UgandAid team by my colleague, Emily Wilkinson. She visited Uganda in 2018, and made an incredible contribution not only on the trip, but through her fundraising efforts too. I am funding the entire cost of the trip myself, including a £100 donation, so all money raised will go straight to UgandAid and its projects!

UgandAid is a charity that began in 2000,  and has two principal objectives:

• To provide sponsorship for vulnerable youngsters, so that they can attend vocational training. This is primarily associated with the Nile Vocational Institute (NVI), which I will be visiting. So far, they have sponsored almost 700 students through various training courses!
• To support NVI in the development of new and existing courses, in order to give the students the best possible start in their careers.
  

I have been involved with various different charities in the past, but this is slightly different. Being part of a company like RSK, I now have a network like never before - and I intend to make the most of this. Emily facilitated introductions between RSK and the Nile Vocational Institute (NVI), and although sure to be a long process, the opportunity for RSK to make a positive difference needs to be explored.
