On 26 September we will be running the Hackney Half Marathon in memory of our friend Jack Merritt and to raise money for a charity close to his heart. 

In November 2019 Jack was tragically killed whilst hosting a conference in London. We love him dearly and would like to carry on the good work he did in his memory. 

Jack believed in an inherent goodness in humanity. He was passionate about social justice and giving a voice to those in society who need it most. He was kind, funny, empathetic and compassionate. And importantly he loved Guinness and the pint at the end will (hopefully) get us to the finish line.

We have chosen to fundraise for Just for Kids Law in Jack's memory because their values, compassion and integrity are very closely aligned to what drove Jack to devote his life to social justice.

Just for Kids Law is a charity which provides personal support for children and young people in crisis to help them gain the confidence and skills they need to build a brighter future. They help young people access justice by providing legal representation, legal advice and campaigning for children's rights.

Just for Kids Law help young people facing a range of issues, from homelessness to immigration problems to have their voices heard and stand up for their rights. They support children and young people when they have nowhere to turn. Without someone on their side, they are often silenced. Just for Kids Law do what they can to make sure children get what they need and are treated fairly.
