Story
232 (Singapore) Signal Squadron, 7th Signal Regiment are currently deployed to KAIA(N) in Kabul Afghanistan. The Squadron have decided to complete an arduous charity event with all proceeds being donated to Hounds for Heroes. Considering the climatic environment, 35+ degree heat, dust clouds, altitude and not to mention a 12 hour shift pattern, this is no mean feat.
Hounds for Heroes is a fantastic newly established charity, that provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of the UK armed forces and civilian Emergency services.
For further information take a look at their website:http://www.houndsforheroes.com/
So what is the event? Members of our Squadron will embark on a 13,128 mile virtual journey around every Royal Signals Unit with more than 30 personnel around the world throughout the month of September. Land and sea will be covered either by running, cycling or rowing where applicable. This equates to 15.5 miles per day for EACH member for 25 days or faster!!!. However, this journey doesn't only include the Squadron Members, but their partners in Germany who have agreed to tackle the 686 miles from Rotterdam to Austria leg.
Please give generously and spread the word to friends and family each kind donation will make a difference to our heroes.
