Story
I've been training through the winter since early December, running 5-6 hours a week to prepare for my first marathon, in Brighton on 14 April.
Having swapped my road bike for a pair of running shoes, I've found it a lot more manageable to put in the training, following an 18-week plan to (hopefully) be able to cover the 42km. I've run over 1,000 km, dropped 7 kg and must have done over 100 laps of Regent's Park - in rain, wind and snow (podcasts have helped). If I complete the race it will be my proudest sporting achievement to date.
The Laura Case Trust is a charity close to our hearts and Joanna is a trustee, overseeing all the great work that they do in memory of her friend, Laura. If you could spare even a small amount to sponsor me, it would go a long way. They're currently raising funds to provide specialised trauma training to every newly-qualified medical graduate in Uganda over the next 5 years. Trauma continues to be one of the highest causes of death and disability of young adults in the developing world, so this training can make a real difference.
