Story

Life for thousands of families in Somalia remains grim. Food prices remain cripplingly high, health outcomes are still dire and the civil war is now escalating. The support of its donors and UWT’s work continues unabated.

Muhammad Salallahu ‘alaihi wa salam said, ‘…Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala remains committed to help his servant as long as he stays committed to help his brother in need…’ (Muslim).

Now in the medium to long-term phase, UWT intends to embark upon a special project to help 5,000 rural families start a new life - a new life that will only cost £700.

This start-up pack is unique and has been specifically tailored for rural families in Somalia following assessments and surveys. Our aim is to provide for 5,000 of these poor families.

This aim however can only be fulfilled with your support and generosity. The charity is asking its donors, who have opened their hearts so readily when called upon, to help give a family in Somalia a new life. Just £700 can do this.

Please visit http://www.uwt.org for more information about this project.

So for this great cause, a team of us will be trekking to the peak of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro (19,341ft) which lies just three degrees south of the equator and is permanently snow-capped.
