 2 years ago I watched my Mom go through absolute hell as she fought against the Cancer that had taken hold of her.

During this, the worst period of time in my life, I was struck by two things; I was in awe of my Mom's mental strength and I was so grateful for the strength and compassion shown by the team of people who looked after Mom in her final weeks.

I was unable to help much other than to be there to talk with Mom and Dad in those final weeks. As I sat next to Mom I was angry and frustrated that I could not do anything to change this course of events.

As a result I made myself a promise that I would take on a difficult challenge to raise money for the people that helped Mom and Dad. I knew this was something I could do to help.

So I started training again. Whilst I enjoy running and cycling I have never really been a fan of swimming and as a result the swimming has been the toughest part of the training for me.

Finding the time to get the training completed each week is hard and the early morning's can make for a more challenging day at work but I always keep a mental picture of my Mom's strength which brings everything into perspective.

I know in this day and age there are many people completing many different challenges to raise money and you probably feel bombarded by requests for sponsorship.

I would just ask you to give as small a donation as possible, if you are able, in support of the fantastic team at Primrose. You cannot put a price on making your loved ones final days as bearable and dignified as possible. Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and show your support to a truly amazing team.
