Story

I and a group of friends are completing an assault course to raise money for the Ribat Institute, which is a local community organisation which undertakes a number of community initiatives both locally and abroad.

I have seen first-hand the brilliant work that it does and the wide range of services it offers.

It helps those locally to obtain a sense of shared identity, seeking to bring out the best qualities of all in the local area.

Below are just some of the brilliant projects which the Ribat institute have set-up and manage and you too could be part of it…as you can see your donation, won’t simply be part of a “one off project” but a number of sustained and ongoing initiatives, changing the lives of those who benefit.

I look forward to your sponsorship, duas, and ongoing support for this brilliant institute.

York Road Project

The York Road Project supports homeless people in the Woking borough and surrounding localities. We are working in unison to provide freshly cooked meals (including drinks & dessert) on a monthly basis, thanks to the kind volunteers of our community who are assisting the Ribat Institute in their humble efforts. May God gaze kindly upon one and all, amin.

Food parcels for the elderly

In aid of OAP's from Woking.

A food parcel project for old age pensioners of Woking. Children from the community, and adult volunteers packaged food parcels and sent handmade cards with a short message to these recipients. This is a small ongoing gesture to reach out to the wider community. Many thanks to all involved. Please take a moment to look the gallery for photos!

Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability

'Plant Potting'

We regularly visit the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, which is an outstanding medical charity. We have taken the children from the academic program on a outreach visit, to visit patients suffering from long term neuro-disabilities, such as Huntingdon's disease. Part of our engagement included a 'potting a plant' project to make the veranda a more pleasant experience for the patients

Walk to End Hunger

A sponsored walk  to end hunger. As you know the drought affects over 10 million people from across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia. Successive failed rains and rising food prices have resulted in the worst drought the region has seen for over 60 years and has left families struggling for basic food and drink on the brink of starvation. Remember them in your supplications.

Ribat Allotment

We are pleased to have secured an allotment in Sheerwater, Surrey. The purpose of the allotment is to grow organic fruit and vegetables for the benefit of our community and also for the youth in the community to take an active interest in understanding where their food comes from and the wider impact on the environment.

Orphan Sponsorship Scheme

The Prophet (s) said, 'The sponsor of an orphan and I are like this in Paradise.' He then joined his middle & index finger.

Following the end of the rebel war 10,000 were orphaned in Sierra Leone. The Ihsan Foundation launched the One-to-One orphan sponsorship program in 2004 and support orphans across West Africa. We are now working in partnership with Ihsan to get UK sponsors to sponsor an orphan in West Africa. For just £20 per month you can sponsor an orphan. All sponsors will receive details of the sponsored orphan, a photograph.
