Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On August 2nd, I'l be doing the Prudential Ride100 London-Surrey, which is a 100 mile bike ride. This is a pretty daunting challenge for a couple of reasons. Firstly, for the last couple of years I've been training for sprinting, specialising in 100 metres. This is, therefore, completely the opposite of what I would ordinarily choose to do, and is going to be a massive challenge to move my body from being used to short, explosive distances to grinding out 100 miles!
Secondly, as some of you will know, I had a pretty serious car accident at the end of August 2014, where I broke my neck, colarbone, and femur. Due to the fact I recovered in 6 months instead of the anticipated 12 months, I thought it only right that I put my newly healed body on the line! When the ride takes place, it will have been less than 12 months since that accident happened, so I hope you'll agree that this marks something of a personal achievement.
By taking this challenge on, I'm looking to raise money for The Children's Society. The charity supports thousands of children and young people a year, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children living in poverty and making sure the voices of children who are so often silenced are heard by those in power.
It is a great cause and all the money raised will go directly to the charity to do great things.
