The 2.6 Challenge is a simple and fun way for everyone to do their bit to help save the UKs charities.

Story

L'Arche offers home, community and friendship to people with learning disabilities who cannot live alone or look after themselves. L'Arche goes beyond supporting people's basic needs and attends to their emotional and spiritual lives too.

L'Arche depends heavily on the charitable funds which are raised annually during the London Marathon, which has had to be cancelled this year. Moreover, no less than 20 of their voluntary helpers have had to return to their own countries and will have to be replaced by fully paid workers. This cannot be afforded and the crisis is real and immediate.

In response to the 2.6 Challenge, we undertake to walk 26 laps - 13 laps each - round the cricket pitch in the grounds of historic Chiswick House. Bertie will accompany us on our walk in his own way!

Thank you for whatever you can donate.

L'Arche builds communities with people who have learning disabilities. Together with assistants, they live in ordinary houses, with choice in and access to work, therapy and local resources. The nine L'Arche communities in England, Scotland and Wales are founded on Christian values, also welcoming people of other faiths and none.
