New Years Day 2011
Hello and thank you for visiting my page!!!
I have decided to run the Brighton Marathon 2011 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. This will be my first marathon, so naturally I am excited and scared at the same time!
When I was at university in the early 90s, my mum found out she had breast cancer. I am happy to say that she is now a proud granny of 10 grandchildren (3 of which are my daughters!) I think my choice of charity does not, therefore, need much explaining! However, today I found a post card that my Dad had sent me at the time my Mum was ill. It brought back sad memories and made me cry. I cannot begin to explain how lucky I feel to have my mum around!
So, my aim is to complete the Brighton Marathon in an acceptable time. I have been trying to keep up with training, but some days it is hard. I had to use a treadmill before Christmas because the pavements were sheet ice. I am not a fan of treadmills (they make me dizzy!) so I hope the weather is mild. (sorry to anyone who wishes for more snow!)
My target is to raise £800 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. I would, however, like to point out that the smallest donation is a worthy one and much appreciated. Every donation made will make my training feel more worthwhile!
I shall try and make my page more interesting, but for now, thanks for reading!

Hello All,
Sorry I have not been on here for a while, but training for a Marathon takes up quite a bit of time, and for me that is the hardest thing! So, I have been doing shorter runs during the week and a long run at the weekend. I am probably much fitter than I have ever been, but also hungry much of the time!!!
Thank you so much to all of you who have donated already, it definitely makes me motivated on rainy, windy cold days (like today!).
So I have 2 calendar months to go and need to raise much more money as you can see. So if you can pass the word on, I would be very grateful.
I shall be back...
